Dr. Priti Patel is currently serving as an Associate Professor in Biotechnology at GUNI–Faculty of Science (FOS). She has extensive expertise in Environmental and Agricultural Biotechnology, with specialization in microbial biotechnology, bioactive metabolites, and sustainable energy solutions. Her core areas of research include biopesticides, nanofertilizers, plant pathology–based biological remedies, CO₂ sequestration, heavy metal remediation, and bioprospecting of extremophilic microorganisms. Dr. Patel is actively engaged in mentoring students, interdisciplinary research collaborations, and promoting bio-entrepreneurship for sustainable and resilient agricultural systems.
Profile
Dr. Priti Patel is an experienced academician and researcher in Environmental Biotechnology, specializing in Agricultural and Microbial Biotechnology, Bioactive Metabolites, and Sustainable Energy Solutions. She has published over 35 research papers in reputed national and international journals, contributed to 4 books and book chapters, and holds one granted patent. She has successfully completed one funded Minor research project and is currently executing ongoing Major Research projects funded by CSIR (India) and GSBTM (Gujarat), focusing on applied and sustainable biotechnology solutions. Dr. Patel is also leading an industry-sponsored project (ORBIT) funded by TechInvention Ltd., emphasizing translational research and industry–academia collaboration. Additionally, she serves as the Coordinator of the DBT-supported Skill Vigyan Program, contributing to national-level skill development and hands-on training in biotechnology.
