Dr. Dhavalkumar D. Prajapati is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology at Mehsana Urban Institute of Sciences, Ganpat University, Gujarat, India, with over a decade of teaching experience and extensive research expertise in microbiology and environmental sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Life Sciences (Microbiology), an M.Phil. in Life Sciences, and an M.Sc. in Microbiology. His research interests encompass microbial ecology, metagenomics, antimicrobial resistance, environmental microbiology, probiotics, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable biotechnology, with his doctoral work focusing on the ecological and cultural significance of sacred groves. Dr. Prajapati has published numerous research articles in reputed national and international journals, authored scientific books and book chapters, secured patents, and actively contributed to interdisciplinary research. He serves as the Coordinator of the DBT Skill Vigyan Programme and has successfully organized and coordinated several national and international conferences, workshops, bridge courses, expert lecture series, and scientific outreach activities. In addition to mentoring postgraduate research students, he has served as a resource person, reviewer, and scientific coordinator for various academic events. His research aims to bridge fundamental microbiological studies with practical applications in agriculture, environmental sustainability, healthcare, and industrial biotechnology.
