Description

Theme of workshop

To conduct Hands-on workshops for researchers and the postgraduate level. The major thrust of the workshop is to train young researchers on various sophisticated instruments, which are useful for conducting both academic as well as industrial research. There will be several expert talks followed by hands-on training focused on the above-mentioned theme. Participants are expected to equip the principle and instrumentation of various techniques such as High- Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), UV-visible spectrometer (UV-VIS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FT-IR), etc., and how to use them to separate a mixture of chemicals and understand their physical, chemical, and optical properties

Activities and key topics to be addressed

Expert talks on Instrument operational principles, instrumentation, and applications.

Hands-on training including troubleshooting and sampling on sophisticated instruments such as- FT-IR UV-VIS HPLC Karl Fischer Titrator R otary Evaporator

Objectives

This workshop aims to empower researchers and postgraduate students with practical skills in utilizing sophisticated instruments for academic and industrial research purposes

Specific objectives

Identify and appreciate the significance of advanced instrumentation in research endeavors. Develop proficiency in operating High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), UV-visible spectrometer (UV-VIS), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FT-IR), and other relevant instruments. Enhance understanding of the principles governing these techniques and their application in separating chemical mixtures, and analyzing physical, chemical, and optical properties. Foster collaboration and networking among participants and experts in the field to explore new avenues for research and innovation. By engaging in expert talks and hands-on training sessions, participants will gain invaluable insights and practical experience necessary for conducting impactful research in both academic and industrial settings
